I want my 4-6-0 to have a wood cab, straight stack and round domes. Looks like the closest I can get is a steel cab, straight stack and round domes. Can I but a wood cab separately? If so, what is the price and part number?

Ken Berlo at Mount Blue Model Co also makes some excellent cabs.  I used a wood cab when I bashed my Forney into a 2-4-0, and he's also got cabs for the IF 4-4-0.  Perhaps he will do one for the 4-6-0.

Travis,

Since all versions come with a choice of stacks you don't have a problem.

I'll take a look at the laser cut cabs. I'm not a big fan of them because the wood grain goes the wrong direction on the vertical boards.

Eric,

Choice of stacks isn't the issue, I want a choice of domes/cabs. Specifically the wood cab with round domes.

exactly Travis...

I mean, it's not like perhaps the most photographed narrow gauge 4-6-0 in North America has round domes and a wood cab or anything  ::)

Any information on this question yet?

When will the 4-6-0's hit the stores?

A look at the 4-6-0 photos shows #28697 has the required Wood Cab/ plus
domes and stack.

Mike,

I guess an interest in California Narrow Gauge is required to understand what I'm talking about. You and I seem to be the only ones getting this.

BTW...What are you working on these days? I haven't seen anything new in a while.

As all the steel cabbed engines come with an extra set of fluted domes, in all likly hood the wood cabbed engine will be supplied with a extra set of round domes.

Ken,

I hope you're right and the wood cab version comes with both types of domes. I just wish Bachmann would conform this so I can place my order.

not that I'm trying to pick on you Ken, but where did you get the info on the domes?

All the documentation I've seen mentions multiple stacks, headlights and fuel loads, but says nothing about the domes...it would be nice but I'm a bit I'm counting on it...especially considering Mr. Bachmann's silence on the subject

Travis, I've been distracted by real life stuff for most of the year (not bad stuff, just stuff) and haven't done any modeling to speak of...I am looking forward to getting an MMI 4-4-0 and one or more of the 4-6-0's, depending on how simply they can be modified...I'd like to end up with SPNG #18, #9 and a RGS/F&CC one too.

3rd page in the photo gallery for the 4-6-0 show the fluted domes as extras.

Cannot remember which question it came under, but the Bachmann implied all
of the extra  parts would be with each engine.

but when I asked Mr. Bachmann directly about the domes (see the second post in the 4-6-0 picture thread) there was never an answer...while other questions about what was included, like the about spoked pilot wheels and stacks, were answered pretty directly <shrug>

...maybe the Bachmann just doesn't like me ;)

I just wish they would give a clear, direct answer about what was included with the loco. Specifically about the domes and the window block off plate show on the Greenbier version...that doesn't seem unreasonable does it?

Dear Mike,
Sorry-
I haven't seen the production packaging yet, but I believe the domes are included. I don't know about the window plate.
You should have yours soon!
Have fun!
