Now I have a new question for the owners of the Berkshire locos.

Do any of you have the Pre Marquette versions?

If so which sandbox/steam dome arrangement does yours have and which of the two Bachmann models is it?

The catalog pictures show them to be different but the instruction sheet online shows both PM's to be the same as the NKP.

The early prototype ones on the PM matched the NKP ones, the later PM Berks matched the C&O placement.

All the shops that might have some for me to look at are an hour away, so I would like to know before I go what I might or might not actually want to buy.

Thanks,

Sheldon

I have the PM1218 and PM1225, both are of the sand dome set back models
just like the real PM1225 and NKP765

it is quite simple really. the NKP and PM are the same basic model.
the sand dome is set back

on the C&O Kanawha the sand dome is forward

jbsmith - Thanks for the info, that confirms that the published instructions are correct, not the pictures of 1218 on this site.

Not really so simple, go to Bachmann's product pages on this web site and look at the picture of 1218 - it has the forward sand box.

I know that those number PM berks were N's with the set back sandbox, but Bachmann must have got it wrong during some part of the preproduction phase and the photos are still out there showing some 1218's with the forward sand box.

So, I  wanted to be sure.

Thanks again,

Sheldon
