those pittsburgh cars brought back fond memories. i used to live along the overbrook line. pcc cars lulled me to sleep at night, and took me to work in the morning. did you know they had one painted up like a clark bar?

Back in the 1970's Pittsburgh painted up a number of PCC's in unique paint schemes.  These included the aforementioned Clark Bar, a Peter Max psychadelic scheme, a Jolly Trolley, a Steelers car, and some others that don't readily come to mind at the moment.  The last of the Pittsburgh PCC's were retired about 6 or 7 years ago when the Drake line was closed and the whole South Hills system became a modern light rail system.

Awww man i have to find some pictures and paint them like i did with some of my other PCCs.

Check out this site:  http://davesrailpix.com/pitts/pitts.html
Especially check the Bill Volkmer collection, as there are at least a couple of shots of the Jolly Trolley.  On a related note, anyone heard of a delivery date for the Con-Cor PCC's?  I ordered one back in the summer, and at the Hartford NMRA convention they said they should be about now.
