Im new at this.....just got a train set using ez track....
My question is this....
what is the difference between a remote turnout which is about $20 and a
single crossover turnout that sells for about $60?
Probably a very simple difference, but it is confusing me.
Any info from anyone?
Thanks so much.

Remote Turnout

#6 Crossover

The #6 crossover is essentially a combination of two #6 turnouts (which are not offered individually) it allows for the running of longer locomotives and rolling stock at high speeds without derailment because it is more gradual than a remote turnout as seen in the 1st picture above. The divergent route is curved on a remote turnout, but straight on a #6 crossover, the remote turnouts is therefore much more restrictive in what locomotive sand rolling stock can run on it and at what speeds you can run them.

thanks so much for going to the trouble to respond.
at the present, just the remote turnout will solve my problem and
obviously less expensive.
again, my thanks,
mike
