I belong to a train club in my area, and some of the members have the Thomas engines. When we opened up the engines, there wasn't a drop of grease in them! and so far we have 2 thomas', 2 percys,2 james', 2 emilys, 2 tobys, 2 spencers, a gordon, henry,  mavis, and edward.
when my friend opened up his toby, it had all of our grease + his! and when he cleaned off all the grease, there were tiny hairline fractures in the gears!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Wow! DCC and sound might be hard but he could probably try a N or Z decoder.

Could grease be a problem with stalling out and lack of power that the engines have? My James and Percy stall out on spots of track that are just as clean as spots that they do run on. Could proper amounts of grease also help to have them get more power?

no try cleaning there wheels. the way i do it is, put a paper towel, or paper, over the track, then, put some rubbing alchol on the track, then, while the transformer is on, run half your engine onto the paper towel, the repeat on the other side with the other wheels. just be careful with the rubbing alchol though it can remove paint. happened to me. i didn't know :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :(

I do need it to clean the engines wheels too though. I could try the towel. I don't want to risk the paint though.

it'll only be the underpaint though. but it also works(but not a well)without that rubbing alchol. and the paint came of the bottom of the steps on an old tyco :( :)

Where can I find grease to replace from the factory grease. Maybe this will help general engine performance.
