Cannot program decoder with MRC controller - think it may have lost memory. Will not take address 3. Is there code to get memory back or by using CV - 29?

What type of decoder did you install in this locomotive?  "DCC Ready" is a term coined by the NMRA (National Model Railroad Association) and defined by them to mean the unit is in some way set up to make it easy (or at least easier) to install a decoder.  For locomotives that are equipped with a decoder and ready to run on a DCC track, Bachmann uses the term "DCC On Board."

If we knew what decoder you are using and which MRC DCC system you are using it with, we would have a better chance of answering your question.

Growing older is mandatory but growing up is optional.

This is a "ON BOARD" unit manufactured by bachman. Control system is MRC PRODIGY
EXPRESS/ADVANCE. I also have tried the "bare bones" BACHMAN "EZ COMMAND" That I
purchaced before the MRC do to lack of control functions of the EZ COMMAND. Cannot put
a address in unit even address 3. any suggestions???

The below document might help.

Also, look in the EZ Command just to the left of this message. The decoder info is there.

Some people put a 1000 ohm resistor across the track when programming.
