Hi,

What is the minimum radius you recomend for Bachman On30 Locomotives and rolling stock? I mean a radius you can really run consistantly.

When and where is the narrow gauge national show this year?

Thanks,

All On30 Bachmann products produced to date run fine on 18" or larger radius curved track.

Although bachmann engines might run on 18", 22 is certainly better. Some of the MMI engines are 26" radius, most On3 engines are ok with 36". Certainly the larger the better, your trains will look more realistic. Best advice I can offer is go with the largest you can get away with, while still having isle space and some operations. Most north american narrow gauge was single tracked, not overly complicated trackage. This is one case where less is definitely more. Have a look at the picture, it looks good not only because of great scenery, but because it captures the prototype. This layout is only about 3' deep at this location. Have a look at the website for more inspiration and helpful building tips. http://home.mountaincable.net/~va3cp/frameset.htm
