I have a DCC Ready 4-8-2 Light Mountain New Haven SpectrumSeries.   It is brand new.  There is mention on the box or in the diagram/instructions on where to put the dcc decoder or how to install it.   How do I get this information?

Dear Don,
The solder points for the decoder are indicated on the exploded diagram included with the loco.
Have fun!

Be aware, there are now two versions of the Light Mountain.

The original is designed to have the decoder hard wired into a notch in the frame on the loco. The main pickup, motor and headlight wires are junction there. The color codes are wrong so look up an install for that one on the net. There are a few tutorials.

There is now a second version of the Light mountain starting to hit the shelves which now uses one of the newer DCC ready tenders on it.This makes installing a decoder much easier. The way to spot them is that they have the new EZmate couplers on them and there will be 6 wires running between the loco and the tender. The older version has neither.
