DCC Sound Value vs DCC Onboard

Being relatively new to model rr, was wondering what the difference in the DCC Sound Value train sets and
DCC Onboard  train sets?

Dear Fan,
DCC Onboard locos have a decoder but no sound.  They can be replaced with full function sound decoders.
Sound Value locos have some sounds built in.
