I need help

I just got the Santa Fe Flyer.  I set it up as they told me in the book.  Put the train and i get  humming and it will not move.  I also have the steel alloy and the nickel silver rails.  Can i mix them together.   
   
I look at my controller it has a plug for the track and one for the power to go in.  Two differant type of plugs.

make sure you have the wires hooked up to the dc terminals not the ac ones.

Yes, you can use steel alloy and nickel/silver rails together. However, don't buy any more of the
steel track. It's not a very good product.

Hi if this can help you I use old 1977's tracks for my DCC set up, and they work well I'v been doing train set's for nearly 30 years now, so i would say yes you can use steel alloy and nickel/silver rails together, because I have them.
