New S4 diesel Loco w/dcc issue?????

Hi I just bought a new S4 diesel loco w/dcc switcher item #63154, and after I programmed the road number in it, I put it on the track where i had to apply darn near full power to get it to move and it was moving really slow unlike the other bachmann locos I have.  Is this normal for this switcher or is there something wrong with it.  If there is please let me know so I can send it in to get fixed.  Thanks

I just looked up the spare parts and noticed that the motor for this is different.  Is that why it runs slower?

It could be the motor, but is most likely the gearing (or possibly both). In any case, it is definitely designed to run like a yard switcher - IE, very slow.
