Trainset run on DC or AC?

Hello all,

I have a question concerning this trainset and ALL the other ones for that matter

Do those trains run on DC power or do they need to be powered by AC?

I live in Germany and have the standard rails and normal DC power output trains and lokomotives that run on DC.

I would like to purchase a Bachmann train set and wanted to make sure I can actually use it on my track since I cannot find this specific info ANYWHERE on the websites of the sellers or Bachmann themselves.

That train set operates on DC.  Some train sets from Bachmann come with DCC installed, but will also run on DC.  The only HO train models I am aware of that operate on AC are from Mearklin.

He means Marklin. 
MTH also happens to make HO locos that run on 3 rail AC track.
