???I first like to thank both JWARD & Electrical Whiz Kid for their advice.  I have tried the VOM
and it show power all through my system.  And Yes it is the main line in the middle of my layout
with 2 R Switches on one end and 2 L switches on the other end.  And yes I've replace the main
line with new track, new locomotives and a new transformer, and yet they still die in the middle of
the main line. Any other suggestion, because I'm Stumped?

They're two of the best here.

Is it possible that your set up has created a Reverse Loop?

if possible can you post a photo or diagram of your setup. it does sound like jb is right and you have created a reverse loop situation that is shorting out your track. but without a diagram we can't tell for sure.

does your locomotive slow down before hitting the dead section. does the situation clear up when you line one or more of the switches the other way? does your power pack have an overload light, and if so does it light when you have this problem?
