Digitrax decoder installed in a Bachmann 2 8 0 Consolidation

Have removed the Bachmann decoder and installed a digitrax decoder in its place.  The locomotive will not run.  Need help!!  Thanks

What, if anything, is happening?
Have you double checked your wiring.

Did you try your Digitraxx decoder in another loco?

Are the wires between the loco and tender correctly connected?

Some Digitraxx decoders have been arriving DOA lately, they will replace
for free.

Does the loco run when you replace the Bachmann decoder?

Does it  run on DC when the shorting jumpers are in place?
