Intermittant Headlight EM 1

I have a new B&O EM 1 loco, am very happy with the unit except it has an intermittent headlight. Does anybody have any suggestions short of returning to Bachman for repair? Incidentally front headlight did not seem to work at all until I installed the sound decoder.

The rear headlight blinks on and off at a very regular rate, a die hard B&O fan says that is not prototypical, I assume it is something that could be programmed out but I like it. Very nice unit except for erratic headlight.

Try -
Remove the sound module

Reset the decoder
     Program CV 8 with 8
     Turn power off then on to track

Install sound module, (be sure not to install up side down)

Run using address 3
