Good evening.  Troubleshooting the headlight of our Bachmann Village Express American 4-4-0 Locomotive.  Both engine and light work, but only when one set of pilot truck wheels are contacting the track.  When both sets of pilot truck wheels contact the track, the light shorts out (and occasionally the engine).  tried to attach my parts diagram but file is unfortunately too large.
Ideas?
Thank you,
Neal

Perhaps one of the pilot truck wheelsets is in the truck backwards. Look at the wheelsets closely. You may see a plastic hub on the end of them. My guess is one of them has been put in opposite of what it should be.  Figure out which one does not cause a short, leave it alone, then pull the other one out and flip it end for end.

Thats my best guess.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the quick responses.  My thoughts were similar but moving the wheels around did not help unfortunately.  The pilot truck is one metal piece that attaches to the pilot truck contact plate and I didn't see any wheels that were or should have been different.  So it seems to have been designed for both sets of wheels to connect.  Just not sure why its not working now.
Thanks again,
Neal
