Hi!  We have an HO Pacific Express, Set #26381 (EMD GP-18 Diesel, 7 cars, trestle bridge, & crossing gates).  Wanted to see if anyone may have a parts list for this set and/or any other information such as a date of manufacture.  Thanks!

Hi HR,

While we don't have any record of a Bachmann set named "Pacific Express", I have a photo of this set "Empire Builder" that matches your description:

This set was in the Bachmann catalog from 1989 to 1993. The Union Pacific GP18 seems to have been included in a few uncatalogued sets from this time period. It was not originally a Bachmann product; it was manufactured by Mehano and first imported by AHM, then by Bachmann after AHM went out of business.

Just stumbled on this post when looking for more information on an old set I was given, which appears to be exactly the set in question. Labeled as the "Pacific Express" from Bachmann, with the exact same included trains as the photo posted from the Empire Builder. Best I can tell is that its from 1988 based on the included Bach-Man comic setup guide.

I find it interesting that Bachmann would turn to Mehano for this locomotive, as their parent company has been producing bachmann models for many years prior. Do you know the story behind this?

Wish they could get the molds for the IHC Mogul, and reintroduce it with contemporary flanges, five pole motor, and maybe even DCC.
