I recently moved part of my layout to the garage, creating a larger layout.  Previous was 5x14, I added about 6 more feet of tract.  When I connect the entire layout my power cab trips and I lose power.  When I disconnect sections at a time, it will light up but then as I reconnect, the power cab trips again. The layout is quite a bit larger; do I need a power booster or just keep disconnecting and reconnecting to try to solve the problem.  Please advise

Just adding track should not create an overload situation. Did your expansion possibly create an unintended reverse loop that could be causing a short?  Another possibility is a feeder go reversed somewhere, creating a short.

If at first you don't succeed, throw it in the spare parts box.

Is there one particular section that trips the breaker when you connect it? If so, that's where your problem lies.

I did remove a bumper that was the end of the line for my passenger train and reconnected to create a continuous route for them to loop around and not have to back in.  That is where the issue is actually.  Thank very much, I will redesign...
