Pacific Northern

Hi, just want to rave about this engine. I have the 4-4-0 in the Russian Iron paint and I only recently got around to breaking the engine in.

I have it pulling a 4 car 60' Riverossi passenger set.  I have a 2% incline to the layout and this engine pulls like a champ. The slow speed control is excellent.

I am so impressed that I would like to obtain another in the Russian livery put that paint scheme seems to be in short supply. Will keep looking though.

Congratulation to Bachmann for a superb little engine.

They are available, just perhaps not the best price around.

I may be a cheapskate on some items, but when the mood strikes me to buy something, I don't worry about the price.  To quote my wife:"It's only money".

Caboose Hobbies has a Father's Day sale going on, another 15% discount, in stock items only.  According to the site, the Russia Iron is in stock, but may be sold out.
That gets the price down to $150

I just missed some vintage cars by about 30 minutes.

Ten Wheeler

I have a Spectrum 4-4-0 Richmond with DCC/ Sound, and it is a really nice "light" locomotive... just like the prototype.  I have one incline of 3%, and it pulls a 40' freight car and a 40' coach all the way with no problem.

It is definately worth the price...

I concur it's a really nice model!

Any news, speculations or rumours on a Spectrum oldtime 4-4-0, Bach-man? ;) With oldtime I mean 1860 - 1880.

cheers
