Greetings everyone. I have an Acela Express engine I bought in '01 and I'm wondering what DCC decoder do I install in the loco and which one I put in the non powered loco to run the lights like they would be on a dc layout. Can anyone help me?

Actually I'm looking to use a different decoder, not the bachmann ez-command, I wanna use a regular decoder and I want to put one in the non powered car to control the lights back there

Any HO-scale size decoder with an NMRA 8-pin plug will do; there's plenty of room in the chassis. The same thing goes for the dummy, although you probably just want to buy the cheapest decoder you can find that will fit.
Train Control Systems has a installation instructions for one of their TH150DP at: http://www.tcsdcc.com/decoderpics/ba.html

Look at a Function only decoder like http://www.tcsdcc.com/decoder/Fleetlighter.html

If you use a regular decoder just for its lights function and not attached to a motor you will need to place a load on the decoder motor wires for the decoder to work.

Also think about how you will get power to the decoder.

hello to all . i was wandering is it possible to use ez mate nem couplers on the acela loco's and cars    ???

Conrail Quality

Yes, it is, but I would recommend using Kadee #17 or #18 couplers instead. EZ-mates are decent couplers, but they rarely outlast a Kadee.
