I received two engines from a family member and they both say Spectrum by Bachmann on the bottom and have a number 88092-CABS inside the shell.  They are both HO Scale CSX DASH 8-40CW.  I'm trying to find out if they are DCC ready or compatible, but cannot find that model number anywhere.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Open the shell.  Look at the curcuit board.  Is there a small plug that you can pull out to discover eight small holes in two rows of four each?  If so it has an NMRA 8 pin standard DCC plug that will take an 8 pin decoder.  Or it may have solder pads.
If it doesn't have either of these it is not DCC ready and you may need to isolate the motor to install DCC to it.

There are no solder points or pins, so not DCC ready.

Thanks.
