Hi,

I've just bought a new SD-45 Sante Fe with DCC on board.  It uses the 44915 Decoder which I've used before without problem, this one works ok but is sloow and has no power, as if its a 1/2 Amp and not a 1 Amp decoder.  Maybe the CV settings need changing. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, John.

I'm finding the same thing with my GE 70 ton engines and my new GE 45 ton engines. It's like their running at 1/2 power?

 Hi engr.todd

Thanks for your reply, have you tried using another decoder?  I don't have another bachman decoder to compare it with, but I used a NCE  N12SRP and it's much better.  I've had other Bachman locos, Steam 2-8-0 and it was fine.

Maybe these locos draw more power or or the electronic suppressor "choke" has something to do with it.

Thanks, John.

John;
I've always used Digitrax decoders and have never had a power problem. I would hate to put a decoder in one of these small 45 tonners but I've done several 44 tonner and 70 tonners so I might give it a try.

Glad your fix worked for you.
Happy railroading!!!
Bob
