Proto Smoke Fluid

I have Seuthe 10 & 11 smoke units installed in my HO scale steamers.  To date, I have only used Seuthe smoke fluid to generate smoke. 

I recently read that MTH offers Proto "coal-scented" Smoke Fluid.

My question: Is this fluid compatible with Seuthe smoke generators or will it damage the unit?

I don't know, can't imagine what it might do to a simple heating system like as smoke generator.  You may want to direct this question straight at MTH and/or Seuthe.. It might be quicker than addressing a bunch of message boards and waiting to see who answers....
