Title: Pheonix sound in Annie
Post by: Dave on August 15, 2010, 04:45:02 PM
Another one from New Zealand. Can The Pheonix PB9 sound kit be installed in the " Annie " without too much major surgery, and if so, can anyone put me on the right track, sorry about the Pun" for installation.

                Cheers

Dave,

I did one about a year or so ago, very simple job as I recall.

One nice feature I liked is the battery is a 3.6 volt, which only requires about an hour to charge (when necessary).

Sound was excellent, even used the Annie speaker (saved some $$).

Dave-

With all due respect to Barry, I suggest putting in the largest speaker you can or even using two.

Dave,

It is very easy to do, You do not even have to do anything to the loco, unless you are also converting to battery power.  Just hook the leads from the rear headlight to the inputs on the board, and the existing chuff sensor leads from the mini board to the chuff input on the sound board and you are ready to go!

Thankyou for your help Gentlemen. The Sound Board is up for Auction here so I will see if I can make the winning bid, depending on finances of course.
