Title: Lynn locomotive
Post by: norman on January 19, 2012, 12:21:12 AM
Dear Mr. Bachmann:

The return of the Lynn is a tempting purchase to model an 2-4-2T loco similar to the HLW 2-4-4T loco La Porte.

I like the low level mounted smokebox. That is the height that I wanted the Indy's smokebox to have been at.
I also like the Lynn cab side window with the window divided mid length.

Just need an Indy boiler and cut off the rear boiler section aft of the centre steam dome.
Remove the air compressor.
Install a cowcatcher, peak roof on the cab ( possibly from the 4-4-0 ) , box headlamp from the 4-4-0, slide the cab and fuel bin with base forward to create a narrow gauge 2-4-4T loco similar to a WW&F loco.

Not that much work for Lee Riley to create such a loco using this Lynn locomotive.

This should be a good seller for Bachmann. I may buy one to model into a WW&F style loco.
