James usually pulled no more than two regular coaches.  However, James is designed to be more of a branch line engine, like Edward.  Therefore, his normal four to five coaches were identical to Thomas's Annie and Clarabel, except that James's were either dark orange or red and had no names or faces.

     Why do we have to stop at St Louis, why not expand elsewhere too?  Models of the Coit Tower in SF, Cal. would also be nice.   How about some historic places like the Statue of Liberty or maybe even the Brooklyn Bridge converted to rail usage instead.

     Has anyone been to St. Louis to the Arch?  Talking about models, try having one of those on your layout.  There are a few railroads close by.  Maybe your layout is entirely one huge city; bring in the glass skyscrapers of Dallas or, for that matter, any skyscraper.

I really do not know, but since we're discussing water, do you have any tips about creating water on the layout.  I'm new to model railroading and would appreciate the best tips first so I shouldn't have to redo anything.

     I may be new to railroading, but I never thought I could post a very hot topic.

     I am new to modeling, so I'd have to say whatever is cheapest for right now.  But if I had a choice, I would probably model Great Northern, Denver & Rio Grande, Southern Pacific, or Texas & Pacific, depending on whether steam or deisel.

     Yes, the B&O was the first rr with any history to it.  Was it not also one of the first rr's in America?  Anyway, it does have quite a bit of history in that it was used for several presidential campaigns; and if I am not mistaken, it was also used for President Lincoln's funeral procession.

Thanks for all the input, guys. I'm sorry to sound so vague, but I was just wondering which rr would be considered the most historical.  However, most things receive historical value because of what happens around the railroad, but particularly what is remembered by the railfans.

     I've always thought that PRR was the most historical railway.  But here lately I'd have to say it is a toss-up among PRR, NYC, and Nickel Plate Road. I personally believe the Nickel Plate Road to be the most historical, even though the PRR is probably the most popular.
     I know that certain railroads have their own historical values in their region(such as the D&RG), but overall, what is the most historical railroad?
