Title: Three Questions for Bach Man
Post by: maxgee on January 02, 2008, 11:05:15 AM
1. Why did they not put flywheels on the GP DCC equipped series and on the SD40-2? If a couple of each. They run fairly smooth, flywheels would be a great improvement.
2. Why isn't there BN GP's and a Spectrum Ultra BN SD45? I model post merger BN. I purchased two Undec SD45 ultra's, and found some older Spectrum BN SD45 shells. After some shell work the older BN shells fit well enough. No cab figures, lighting is fair, after using some parts from the Ultra shells.
3. My DCC SD40-2, no matter what start voltage I use takes forever to get moving. Any suggestions? ???

I think flywheels would take a good bit of changing the frame design to work.

Dear Max,
Questions 1 & 2: I'll pass along your remarks.
Question 3: You can adjust the startup voltage with an advanced DCC system.
Have fun!

I have a Prodigy Advanced system. Guess I wasn't clear enough. I've set the start voltage everywhere from 8 to 96, accel to 1, deccl to 1, top voltage to 254. Even reset to defaults (CV8), and still it sits for a few seconds before it moves. Once it's moving it's fine, runs smooth, I've pulled 14  HO cars, took awhile to get it moving but it pulled fine.
