General Discussion / Re: Extending track extensively
December 29, 2018, 02:14:03 PM
Hello.  I am reading your post about extending your layout. Are you just running 1 train on the oval ? If so  by adding a few separate feeds to the track with the longer straights should suffice as 15 feet is not that long and would not need isolated blocks even if you are using DCC. i would also recommend that you take off your Email address from your screen name.

HO / Re: Turnout Extension Wire

If you are using the NS HO turnouts on your layout the Bachmann item 44598 is the correct extension cable. If using as an extra extension the 3 spade male end will fit into the female end . It can be a little tight to insert but I use a small pair of needle nose pliers to make the two connections squeeze tight together.

It is the whole engine not just the shell.

HO / Ho K4 Spectrum
October 30, 2018, 02:14:46 PM
This is my last K4 that I had running. It is a HO non DCC Spectrum cab numbered 5475. It will move forward and reverse with no problem but the shell moves side to side. I can not see any any problems with the side rods moving wrong. Any help would be appreciated .

Is it wearing off from handling or just wearing off without being touched?

General Discussion / Re: Not a happy camper
April 28, 2018, 03:35:12 PM
Not sure of your circumstances but just to let you know when  I had to send a HO engine back for repair and there was an issue that they could not repair or replace it with the same item they offered me a similar item but not in the same road name and not the same type of engine. I was happy to get a engine back that has worked great for a year and I think it only cost $35 for the shipping. I think the time span was only about 2 weeks. Maybe you should call the service department and try to work out the problem.

Does Bachmann offer replacement turnout switches for the HO EZ Track  #5 turnouts? Looked online in the parts store and could not find them.

General Discussion / Installing buildings
February 08, 2018, 01:41:44 PM
I am getting ready to install some Walthers buildings on my layout. The layout is HO using Bachmann EZ track on a 2" foam base. I am thinking that I should shim the bases up some to compensate for the EZ track height. What material would you suggest and how high off the foam base? Thanks in advance.

HO / Re: Plate girder bridge

Terry and Len, Thanks for your suggestions. Terry, after I saw what you suggested I went and looked in my old parts bin. I found an old Atlas plate girder bridge with brass track from the 1980's. I removed the brass track and the plastic bridge rails and sanded everything smooth. Placed a piece of EZ track on it  and it works perfect. Where it is on the layout you will only see the sides and some of the bottom of the bridge so I am not worried about a view from looking down and seeing a slight height difference for the gray ballast sitting higher on the bridge. Thanks again.

Does Bachmann make a plate girder bridge that will accept HO EZ track without having to make any modifications?

I designed my HO EZ track layout with Anyrail and did not have any problems.

HO / Re: The Bachmann Workbench
February 25, 2017, 03:36:16 PM
I like the idea of a video workbench. I understand that this thread is for new products. I would hope that Bachmann could come up with some basic videos on repairs for all rolling stock.  I also agree with the post from Deland about having a video on how to adjust and fine tune EZ Track HO  turnouts. I also think that having a video on breaking down a steam loco and a diesel loco to clean and lube would be helpful. The more you help a customer with their problems the more you have a repeat customer. Just my thoughts.

Thank you all for your replies.  I thought I came across a site a while back on another project that sold replacement wheels with gears for older engines. Anyone know of it?
