Thanks Yard,

I have time today..  I'll try and flip it over and see what's going on.  I know bending the ones on the end of each rail isn't a good thing, now my turntable doesn't move correctly.. it'll try and stop at points..

Hello Bachmann..

It's time to address this issue with a FIX please....  I thought I had it fixed, but now it's right back to doing the same thing, and personally the amount of money I spent for 10 switches and a motorized turntable that are 100% unreliable is starting to get me.

And please do not tell me to call TECH support.  I have a job and you all are usually closed when I have time on my hands.

I'll have to think twice before I buy any more EZ trak.  At least this is a temp layout until I move and can build a "REAL" one with "QUALITY TRACK".

General Discussion / Re: Derailment

Alex....,

I wish you luck.  Bachmann track is fine as long as it's just curves or straight.  I learned the hard way, I too just finished a temp. 4' x 8' layout, with 10 DCC switches and a DCC motorized turntable.  Not one of them work properly.  I have all different kinds of rolling stock that derails over every switch.  Not one of the 10 can haul a train over it without derailing, unless the points are going to the main, but if the the points turn, they always derail.  Also, the DCC motorized turntable is a joke.  It loses track power all the time, because the contacts do not touch the rails enough to make a good contact and raising them hinders the bridge turning.  Can't wait til I get moved to where I can throw all this away and go Atlas.

I to have a thread in the HO sections somewhere about the derailing issue.  I'll keep an eye on yours incase someone answers with a good tip.  I hear filing the points down works and probably will be trying that this weekend.

Cheers

"Sparky, I actually had the same problem. My fix is a little time consuming but worth doing. In between each track I drilled a hole then I beveled down the top so I could countersink the heads of the screws I used. With this setup I was able to fine tune each track as you will find out when you fix one another will stop. My TT is on a very level solid board so it had nothing to do with that. After securing the TT with the screws I could adjust the tension on each track and hid the screws with scenic material. Sounds like a lot to do but in reality it took all of 1/2 hour to do."

Thanks for the tip, I may have to try this, if I can't find an easier and a temporary way of fixing the issue.

Hi, thanks for the tip.

I tried it, but still nothing.  I have pinned pointed the problem though, but not sure of a fix.

The problem is..  the bridge doesn't appear to be making contact (or good enough contact) with the powered track.  If I press down where the bridge rails meet the entrance trace the engine will start to move.  I tried prying up the copper contacts to touch the rails better, but it's not helping much, and I don't want to bend them too much to where they fly out of their holes or I break them..

Any other suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks

Greetings everyone!

Question.  (and don't yell, cuz I searched and couldn't find my answer).  I just got done hooking up my DCC ready turntable, I added Bachmann's DCC decoder into it, and it works great, (a little loud) until I pull a engine up to the turntable.  Once it hits the bridge, it dies.  Will do nothing.  Yes, I have power to track #4, the one stated to hook up to the track power.

Any suggestions?

**  All stall tracks work though,  just once it hits the #4, it dies.
Thanks...

Thanks.. that's gonna be awesome then..

Bachamann really needs to think about selling the roundhouse separately.   Double the cost for me, but at least in the end, I'll have a pretty decent turntable and sheds on my non thomas layout.. :)

I've asked this before, but really never got a straight up answer.  What I intend on doing is....

I'm getting the HO Scale DCC ready Motorized turntable for my layout and want a roundhouse as well.  Well we all know that the only one Bachmann makes is the Thomas & Friends Tidmouth Sheds with Turntable.  I'm curious, will the sheds to this line up with the Motorized DCC version?  It looks like it to me, they are identical for the most part.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Why the knock on Bachmann??  I have never had an issue with repairs or replacements.  In fact there was at one time, I had to send 6 of their amfleet cars in for replacement, because there was damage to the one side of the car door.  Looked like the mold was getting old.. not sure.  The replaced every single one of them, all I had to was send them in with a copy of the receipt.  I don't even think I filled out the little card for all of them.  The replaced them all with great looking amfleet cars.  Not to mention Bachmann is one of the 2 manufacturers out there who actually support and fix their products right.

Hey Bachmann,

I just bought a new HO DCC #6 Crossover to replace one that I got that had some ties missing (this is going to be sent in for warranty repair), but when I hooked the new one up only one switch will throw?  The other is dead and will do nothing..  Is there something I can do, so that I'm not sending 2 back for repairs/replacement???

Thanks,

HO / Bachmann #6 DCC Crossover Switches

Greetings everyone!

I'm trying to do a double oval layout with EZ Track for just a temp layout until I get moved into a new house.  So I go out and buy all this fancy stuff.  DCC Crossover Switches!  It was a snap hooking them up and operating them by my remote DCC controller.  I thought everything was fine until I started running some of my locos slow, well actually one was at speed step 15 ( 2-8-0 ), and it stalled right dead on the stitch as it started to go into the crossover section.

Personally this is now ticking me off.  Does anyone have any idea's or suggestions on how to get them to stop stalling on the crossovers.  Really gets me mad to spend this kind of money on something that is more toy like because you have to run them fast over the switches?

Only seem to stall when it's diverging. (crossing over)

Suggestions please..

Thanks,

Sparky

Yes and yes. Bachmann sells add on stalls for the sheds.

Do you know the maximum amount of stalls then?  I'm so glad that this will working my regular motorized bachmann turntable.  They need to make two version of that Thomas roundhouse, leave one the way it is, and then paint one red, for those who use EZ track.  Now I can have a roundhouse.. woot.

I'd thought I would go ahead and ask my question here, since we are talking turntable and shed here.  I have a regular HO scale layout, and I plan on getting the Bachmann motorized HO turntable, does anyone know if the shed lines up to motorized turntable tracks and if it does....  can you extend the stalls? (have more then what is shown?)  I just want a cheap way of adding a turntable and round house.

Thanks.

The turntable is not motorized, if that is what you are asking.

Not what I was asking....  But thanks.  I was asking...  I have the HO scale motorized version not the thomas one..  and I wanted to know if the stalls would work with that for my regular HO Scale layout, since Bachmann doesn't make a roundhouse for their motorized turntable.
