Title: Which decoder does the RS3 have?
Post by: bn_1970 on January 27, 2012, 01:02:29 AM
Does anyone know what brand decoder the RS3 has? And can you change the start, mid, and top voltage to help match it to another loco? I plan on running one with a Kato RS2. Thanks in advance.

It is a factory Bachmann decoder. They have Vmin, Accel and Decel. No mid or max speed, no speed tables. In order to replace it, you need to hardwire a small decoder like a DZ125 or similar. Nobody makes a lightboard replacement decoder for them.
