Title: dcc to dc
Post by: cannonballs on January 09, 2024, 12:57:01 PM
How can I convert a dcc locomotive to dc?  The loco is a 2-6-0 Southern #7080?

Hi cannonballs,

All Bachmann DCC locomotives are equipped with dual-mode decoders. They can operate on both a DCC system or with a DC power pack.

Be advised that when operated with a DC power pack the decoder will "eat" around 5 volts before the loco starts moving. So the throttle position will be higher than with a straight DC loco. If the rest of your locos are straight DC, you might want to replace the decoder with a dummy plug if it's connected via an 8-pin sockt.
