Is there any place where we can find a picture or information on the new 2-6-0?

I have seen a picture of it on Micro Mark's website
I saw the Pennsylvania one on model railroader, along with the NYC FA-2

Can't wait to see the ATSF one ;D

Model Railroader site has a new picture of the new 2-6-0 posted as well as the new FA2

Funny that they would show one in the Pennsylvania livery
Ahh, it appears to have the all-important working front coupler.

They have an amusing typo,
QuoteBachmann HO Standard Line Alco 2-6-0 Diesel Locomotive, with sound. Our choice of roadname.
Mr. Bach-man,
sDo you hava a release date for the new HO scale 2-6-0 mogul with sound? Also how abour release of the sound decoders for installation in existing Bachmann locomotives. Thanks,
The new Sound Value Diesels are in the warehouse and shipping to dealers. The steam locos should follow shortly. The DCC/Sound decoders featured in these locomotives are integrated into the electronics board and are not being sold as a seperate item.
Might already existing Standard Line engines at some point be offered in a sound-value on board and DCC ready versions as well?
I wouldn't rule that idea out...
Will the sound decoder be a separate PC board and plug into the Bachmann PC board like the 4-6-0 with Tsunami on board? I have that model and it looks like the present steamers all have that configuration.
I looked for the 2-6-0 diagram in the diagram page but might have missed it. Thanks.
Rich
No the DCC/Sound board is integrated into the electronics board (it's all one piece).
Will the tender have a connector in case some want a different brand of sound decoder?
Some like to do that.

There is a Panama 2-6-0 in Arkansas. I don't think they run it any longer. High price of oil made it too costly to operate.
I'd give a whole lot to see a snowplow on one of these! ;D

After market brass casting and install it yourself. :-)
Which reminds me, that's a good idea for a couple of GER steam engines.
The prototype for the B'mann 2-6-0 is a Green Bay & Western loco - there is a drawing of it on Kalmbach's "Steam Locomotive Encyclopedia". It looks OK for me on the pictures - certainly an excellent candidate for a cane loco.
Cheers NB
Dear All,
It's a catalog ALCO 2-6-0 similar to many roads.
Have fun!

For those who say this close to a Green Bay & Western locomotive, here is a good builder's photo and specifications:

What's most interesting is how the boiler bands are invisible in this photo, a combination of everything being smooth (brand new engine), and a flat finish, perhaps in grey, for the photo. This used to be a common practice for builders' photos; the flat, lighter, temporary color helped hide dings, dents, and waves in sheet metal, and also allowed other details, such as might be hidden in shadows under running boards, to photograph more clearly.
Check out the photo on a book cover of what looks like a similar engine, if not the same one, and note the headlight!

Have fun.
The missing or invisible boiler bands could also be a result of the photo having been retouched, which is a practice not unheard of, especially in builder's photos that were used in catalogs. Similar things are done today, only using computers and software like "Photoshop", instead of film & hand painted retouching.

The photo of the SP 2-6-0 listed above (http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=192018) is supposedly the prototype for the IHC 2-6-0 (with a different tender, of course.) I have both the IHC and the Bachmann 2-6-0. Both are fine models, each in its own way. I sure love the sound on the Bachmann version, although I miss the brake squeal that my Spectrum Richmond 4-4-0 has.
