Title: Diesel axle designation & DCC sounds.
Post by: ICEman on July 27, 2020, 08:12:01 AM
New to model railroading & the forum. 2 questions: I am planning an 10 x 6. "L" layout with 18" & 22" radius curves. It was recommended that I use 4 axle (diesel) locomotives. #! I assume that means 2 trucks, 2 axles each, 4 axles total; am I correct on this.
#2: planning on DCC with sound on the locomotive. Do all DCC decoders with sound have ALL LOCO sounds, bells, Diesel engine sounds, & air brake sounds ?

The on board sound, decoders will have less sounds than the locos you install your own son decoders. Been there, done that. Read the details, CV's. It will take time.

Sound value is a DCC/sound decoder on a starvation diet.  It'll do, but other decoders, including others factory installed by Bachmann, have a lot more sounds and features.
