HO / EZ-DCC programming question
June 21, 2007, 10:37:19 AM
I've had some difficulty programming a pair of Bachmann DCC equipped locos and thought I post here and see if anyone might be able to help.

I have a Spectrum 2-10-2 and Bachmann EZ-DCC GP30 that neither one will accept a 4-digit/long-address.  They both appear to work fine otherwise, but are stuck running as default loco "03" only.

I have other EZ-DCC locos (GP38-2; SD40-2; GP35; GP30) that have all easily taken the long-address with little trouble.  According to my notes, I went in and changed CV29 to accomidate the 4-digit address on those examples and all went quick and easy.

These other two mentioned above won't allow me to re-program CV29.  I get "d nr" on my Digitrax Zephyr, when I try to read or program CV29.  Also can't even get the 2-digit address to switch from its "03" default.

Any ideas?  Defective decoders?

Thanks,

HO / Mr. Bach Man, No HO-scale Shark Now?
June 20, 2007, 10:19:32 AM
Bach-Man,

Noticed that Bachmann no longer features the former E-R Models N-scale Shark Nose A & B sets in its product line.  Also read that Models 11 now may have exclusive distribution to these N-scale Sharks.

Does this mean there is now no plans for the rumored introduction of the former E-R Models/Roco HO-scale Sharks in the Bachmann line in the future?

Thanks,

Hey Bach Man,

I've been seeing on eBay Bachmann Twin Diesel with Caboose sets.

Here's a picture of the Santa Fe GP40 set...

Also see Amtrak F40PH sets and Alaska GP40 sets.

My question is, I don't see them listed from Walthers for ordering by my local hobby shop.

Beyond eBay, how do you get them???  Are they not sold through distributors like Walthers and/or Horizon Hobby?

Also can't find them listed in Bachmann catalogs or on the website.

Thanks

Tony

This is my installation of DCC and Sound in a steam engine.

Am having some difficulty with the headlight, but I really like the Soundtraxx Tsunami sound system...

HO / Fresh Cherries: The Next Batch...
March 28, 2007, 12:45:05 PM
You may have read about the second group of 1/87th Fresh Cherries vehicles, but I have some info that is freshier and differs from earlier announcements.

Read about the next batch of 1/87th Fresh Cherries, plus see pics of the original cars and info regarding their prototypes and model designs...

Thought some here might enjoy my look at E-R Models/Roco's HO-scale diesels and the few diesels announced but never produced.

HO / Toy Fair Announcement Question
February 18, 2007, 01:58:50 PM
Hello Bach Man,

You had stated some time back that Bachmann was altering its announcement practice and that items would not be called for so far in advance of their actual delivery.

Does this apply to the items announced in the 2007 Bachmann product catalog/Toy Fair?

Also, I noticed the catalog and Toy Fair announcements call for an EZ-DCC Rio Grande GP-35 and then there is a Rio Grande GP-40 announced bundled with the EZ-DCC controller.  I'm guessing it might be an error and we will actually see only one new Rio Grande diesel...but which is it?  GP-35 or GP-40?

Thanks,

Tony Cook
