HO / Re: EZ Command
September 24, 2020, 07:55:58 AM
Hi Rich,

Not really looking to upgrade, I actually like EZ Command. I have been able to run 3 locos with sound, 2 without and a PCC street car all at the same time with no issues and not notice any change in speed. Was just curious on the I/O and the DCC turnouts. The only problem with the EZ Command for me is the limit of 8 locos and turnouts.

HO / EZ Command
September 23, 2020, 08:12:08 AM
Hello, I have a couple questions that I have searched the web and cannot find the answer. I have 4 DCC remote crossovers and 1 remote turnout using a decoder for DCC. Every time I power up the crossovers all open to crossover but the remote turnout does nothing. If they are already open they do nothing, kind of a problem remembering to not park the locos on the crossover every time I shut down and remembering to close every time I start up. Almost sent 2 very good locos to the concrete yesterday. Any idea if this can be stopped? using EZ Command

The other question concerns the EZ command I/O Port. The manual has no info and was curious if I connect another EZ Command what would happen? Would it work as a another throttle, I assume it would not allow me to program 8 more locos and turnouts. Also is there a specific cable needed, searched for one and nothing.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I bought a 2 pack of these to see what they do and after looking at them and putting them on the layout and reading this I still do not know. There are 2 power connections on each side and I did remove the 2 larger black screws to see if anything would move and nothing changed. I wish Bachmann would give a better explanation on these items on their web site and honestly a lot of time the explanations I get on here I do not understand. Have had trains for a long time but all layouts only had track and a switch or two and now I am going to fast for what I know.

Thanks in advance

Thanks Hunt, that's pretty dumb. I could have bought a DCC turnout for $13 dollars more. Also the description states turnouts not turnout, kind of deceptive.

Oh well, live and learn, Thanks again.

Hello Again,

I just bought this product and need some help. I was able to easily hook up one turnout and it worked perfect. I can't see how I can hook up more to it as there is only one connection. I hooked up another thinking the first might work if not plugged in but no dice. I have to be missing something.

Thanks in advance

HO / Re: Layout Help

Thanks to both for the replies and the book suggestion, I will be sure to order.

I did figure out this morning that if I add a 1" piece on the 2 sides I use the crossovers and a 1" and 3  1/4" on the other sides it should work being the tracks are exactly 1" off and the crossover will add 3 1/4". I will basically change from 89"x 89" to 93.25" x 93.25". Only concern is at the four straight parts I am leaving basically no room for error if a derailment. I will have to build something to protect against that, a wall or some netting. I will also have to use the other straight parts going in from 33.25 to 28 but I should have a little extra room, that is why I will go to 93.25 all aroung.

Does that make sense to anyone other than me?

HO / Layout Help
August 27, 2020, 08:38:26 PM
Hello,

I am starting an HO layout on an 8' x 8' space and need some help or input. I am using Bachmann EZ Track and have 35.5 Radius x 20 on the outside with 2 9" straight tracks between each 5 pieces. I have the same thing inside using 33.25 radius and can't figure out how to connect the two lines. Didn't really think it out and thought I would be able to use turnouts and that obviously didn't work. I was going to order 2 #6 crossovers but after looking the 2 straight tracks do not match up so that will not work. Any ideas? I have never used any of the track software and was overwhelmed trying Any Rail? I plan on doing the same down to 28 26  22 and 18 radius so any ideas suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

HO / Re: Remote Left Turnout Problem
August 21, 2020, 07:19:04 PM
Thanks for the response, that is what the problem is. One of the 2 connections underneath broke loose. I tried to solder it back and didn't work. It does work when I jump it but not sure how I want to do that, I guess solder a wire to the side of the rails. There should really be more protection underneath and those were the smallest screws I ever saw.

HO / Remote Left Turnout Problem
August 09, 2020, 03:18:25 PM
Hello,

New to the forum, out of the hobby for a while. I am having a problem with this turnout, it was bought on EBay but was sealed still in package new. It worked fine for a couple days and then train started losing power when it would go through, every time actually. The remote switch part still works and I replaced with another piece of track and no problems. I have tried the turnout in another area and same result. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance
