Title: Bachman Bookshelf Railroad
Post by: Chris Gibson on February 09, 2024, 03:18:37 PM
Hi!  I'm hoping to recreate in O gauge the first train set I ever had.  I think Bachman made it.  It was an N gauge train; it came in a box with Bookshelf Railroad on the outside; two panels that were split down the middle opened out and "inside" were the cars, track and transformer.  This would have been in the early to mid 1970's.  I think the train was lead by an AT&SF F3 with a "dummy" engine and I think there was a green Penn Central box car and an orange / red - orange Illinois Central domed tanker that I remember.  Any idea where a picture of this train in its entirety might be found?  Would love some help - thanks!

The "Bookshelf Railroad" was done by Parkway, not Bachmann. This is the passenger version:

The track included appears to be a simple oval.
