HO / Message from Frank Ritota, President of MRC

To our valued customers

We have been informed that there may be some issues with the new Atlas Genset  locomotives when used with our MRC Tech 6 Sound Controller 2.0.

At MRC, We take claims very seriously. Every MRC product goes through thorough and exhaustive testing; conducted both in-house and by 3rd parties. We do this to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards, and are free of defects in design, workmanship, and operation before the product goes to market. The Tech 6 is certainly no exception.

This product which has been in the marketplace for almost a year, has been lauded for its unique capabilities, operational effectiveness, and flawless performance. To date, we have not received any complaints or notifications of any issues concerning operation with any manufacturers' locomotives, with the exception of the new, recently released Atlas H.O. scale Genset Locomotive.

Since this problem has developed, we have initiated additional testing. Our testing has uncovered similar problems with the Genset when used with other well known brands of train control systems.

I thank you for your continued support and patronage.

Mr. Bachman,
Now that SDK stated K-line by Lionel is no longer going to be made, and SDK owns the K-line tooling, and now that Kader/Bachman own SDK [phew]
is there any chance that Bachman, or Williams by Bachman will be producing the K-line product line of O scale trains and accessories?
there is so much speculation on the 3 rail forums, i figured to go direct to the source

HO / DCC On Board Turnout Decoders- Mr. Bach-Man Please
January 06, 2010, 01:37:22 PM
Does the decoder installed in these turnouts support any programming modes; eg: paged, direct, register or programming on the main?
Does the decoder support CV readback?
Does Bachman or the decoder manufacturer have a complete CV chart of the available CV's included in this decoder for troubleshooting programming issues.
I'm trying to help a combined MRC/Bachman customer using these turnouts with a Prodigy Advance Squared DCC System.
it seems he purchased Bachman item no. 44130 and the default setting is the diverging route through the turnout not the straight route. the only way to set the straight route as default is to either reverse the wires from the decoder to the twin-coil switch machine, [wire colors are not the same on different turnouts], but we would need to know which color is the common, or to try and use CV programming to reverse the direction of the decoder.
The instructions supplied by Bachman only deal with changing the default using the Bachman E-Z Comman DCC System.
The customer told me today he has tried calling Bachman the last few days, and no one has returned his phone calls
thank you

Frank
