I bought a Collector's Series Class J N&W 4-8-4 (DC). The track I tried it on was 9 3/4" radius and it kept coming off. So I tried squeezing the wheels together, thinking there was a small gap between the wheel stops and the axle (you know what I mean...). It loosened the wheels. I traded in all my curves for 11 1/4" radius and put a small dab of superglue on the axles. It worked for a bit, but the wheels came loose again.
Anybody have a permanent fix for this?
Perhaps LocTite 620 would work?
It's designed for tight bonds between cylindrical metal surfaces, so if your wheels have plastic inserts on/against the axle to isolate the rails you might want to disregard this.
NWSL sent me some with their replacement gears for my On30 Rail Truck, it's held true for almost a year now.
Hmm... without looking, I believe the spokes on the driving wheels are plastic, so I'll keep that in mind when I look at it again. Thanks.
Anybody else, in the meantime?
