Decided to take a photo of my 4-4-0s, as you can see i have a bunch, and they are mostly bachmanns as well.

Nice collection. I know a lot of those are hand-painted and modified a bit.

Thanks, if your talking about the 3 memorial engiens(Spectrums) I wish Bachmann had given balloon stacks as a seperate detail part as they did the wood loads, so they be more correct, but they didn't and trying to get a perfect match paint wise for some old timer stacks is almost impossible
Hay guys,
I also like the wood burners. I think that is why BOfan put them in front, just for you and I.
very cool looking collection.
Enjoy,
Barry

haha, i put em in front because they are special all their own. Back in 2010 I had to have my dog Sarah put to sleep, and at the time i was doing a lot of reading on the Lincoln Funeral train, So I created a Funeral train for Sarah(my dog) I took a Russian Pin Stripe 4-4-0 i had and painted it blue and gave it gold stripes, simular to the Presidental B&O P7s(only in blue) and made it a B&O engine with her name on the cab and age of death, then I lost Purdy 6 months later(Natural Causes), and preceded to do the same only green this time. The last one, was a normal 4-4-0 no pin stripes and I Lost my 3rd and final(I had 3 dogs at one time, all related) Elvis back in 2012. I made his engine black with gold stripes. oh, all three have a whole train to them selves, posted pics of em a while back.
The American has always been one of my favorite wheel arrangements. One of my earliest kit-bashing attempts was to take the back two-thirds of a Varney Casey Jones 4-6-0 and marry it to the Kemtron Wabash Mogul superstructure. Gem whetted my appetite further when they listed the Ma & Pa No. 6 in their catalog, but they never produced the model.
Move forward 10 years and Alco finally did the number 6 so I had to have one. The detailing wasn't up to snuff, though, so I had to replace the domes and do other work to make it more correct. Of course, Bachmann really filled the bill with the Richmond Americans, in both original wood cab and as No. 6 with the steel cab and piston valves. Luckily, I got to see PRR 1223 running on the Strasburg over the years until she was stuffed and mounted in the museum. Wilmington and Western No. 98 operates fairly regularly, and now we have the new "old" 4-4-0 running out of New Freedom, PA on the Steam Into History line.

I'm hoping to get to Strasburg one day, this spring i'm really pushing for a father son trip with my dad(i don't drive and he had his foot run over by a forklift 2 years ago) I'm down in Baltimore not horribly far from there. I'll feel like i'm in Enemy Territory beign a B&O Buff and from B&O Territory, but the B&O Museum doesn't have many modern steamers, and only 2 in B&O, rest are C&O, and they only run steam 2 weekends out of the year i do believe, i wont even attempt it because of the crowds. and when they run em, they run old timers, (4-4-0 Mason, 4-2-0, and a crab sometimes) but the one you ride behind is a small 0-4-0 saddle tanker. and the rides not that long due to CSX having a yard less then a mile and a half away. i really don't think $15 for a 15 minute train ride is worth it.
When you go to Strasburg, I suggest going the "back" way from Baltimore - up I-95 to Exit 80 (Rt. 543 west). Go right on Rt. 136 to U.S. 1 north. Cross the Conowingo dam and pick up U.S. 222 north. Turn right (east) on Rt. 741 through Strasburg to the railroad just east of town. This avoids the traffic snarls that usually occur along U.S 30 around Lancaster which you run into if you go up I-83 to York and east on 30.
I also noted the Wilmington and Western RR, which is about the same driving distance from Baltimore. Check their web site for info on when steam will be running.
