Dear Bach Man,

Was working on an update to my Christmas tree triple train display and found that Bachmann doesn't have an E-Z Track 22"R Curve w/Terminal Rerailer and Wire. I would like to make a try-level display next year to give it some depth.

What is the easiest way to connect wires to E-Z Track without a terminal section?

Thanks, GovB  ???

Large / AMS Logging Disconects w/Shay
January 12, 2009, 07:46:00 PM
Dear Friends,

Will the link & pin ends of the AMS 1.20.3 logging disconnects (AM32-210) line up with the link & pin connection on the 38 Ton 2 Truck Shay (#82197) I just bought? The AMS disconnects look too low from photos I've seen. Does anyone know if the two are compatible? Have photos?

Thanks, GovB

Large / Stack Installation on 2Truck Shay
January 07, 2009, 04:28:52 PM
Dear Bach Man,

What is the procedure for installing the stack on a 2 Truck shay? Just got a NIB Ely-Thomas (2005) but no installation procedures in box. Would not want to mess this up. Any ideas? Help!

Recently purchased (new-in-the-box) an Ely-Thomas 0-4-0 Saddle Tank Porter (#82098) but didn't find any lubrication instructions in the box. Did find wiring and assembly drawings. There also isn't a lube port in the bottom like the other Bachmann locos I own. Is this a design goof? Are the internal gears supposed to be lubed? Don't want to crack it open unless I have too. I would appreciate your help.

Large / LGB logging disconnects
July 28, 2008, 07:58:44 PM
Looking at buying a pair of LGB logging disconnects (w/logs), #47750 & #47757, that have hook & loop couplers. Is there an easy way to change them to Bachmann compatible couplers? Has anyone done this and did you like the results?

Large / Ely-Thomas Caboose
July 22, 2008, 06:54:07 PM
I have seen an advertisement for an Ely-Thomas logging caboose and another for an E-T bobber caboose, both showing the same number, 93127.

Which is it ???

Large / Compatibility Problems?
June 16, 2008, 10:13:29 PM
I have a couple of Bachmann locos, both DC, (but have not built a layout of any sort yet) and I have just acquired an LGB mogul. Its manual recommends to "Use this model with LGB power supplies with an output of at least 1 amp.". Would I have problems (warranty aside) using the Bachmann 1 amp Large Scale Power Pack and Speed Controller? Do any of you guys run different makes on the same layout (novice question)? What problems might I have to address with this situation?

Need some guidance please,

Thanks, GovB

Thomas & Friends / Thomas & Friends in DCC
May 20, 2008, 01:18:03 PM
Dear Bach-man,

My grand kids love Thomas and his friends but wouldn't be great if they could all be together on the same layout in DCC ? It would be great if each engine could have it's own sounds and voices. You could even have Harold, Sir Hatt and other friends speak as they go by. I've seen sites that sell some items with DCC after market installed but I'm sure that couldn't match what the Bach-man could do. What a great way for a child to be introduced to model railroading. How about it Bach-man?

Large / Recommendations Please
April 06, 2008, 11:17:08 PM
Need a Recommendation Please,

Which ore car (side-dump, wood ore car, high-side or low-side gondola) would be best to run with my Colorado Mining 2-6-0 Indy and my 0-4-0 Side Tank Porter? Which would be best to represent the type of mining duty they would be used for? I'm torn between gold and coal. I have not found much on the web for reference.

On30 / EZ Track and Stuff
January 29, 2008, 09:44:40 PM
I really like what I've read about the Bachmann EZ Track system but need more info. Local dealers are not very knowledgeable about the system. Are the Decoder-Equipped Turnouts for use only with the Dynamis Wireless Infrared DCC System or can they be operated with the Digital Command Control System? And, where can I find more info on the E-Z Command Dynamis Wireless Infrared DCC System? It really sounds great but there is very little info on this site. I plan to start small and build up to a more complex layout with multiple turnouts (TO's). How many TO's can be controlled and by which controller?  Or, is my thinking all wrong?

On30 / O Scale Structures for On30
January 21, 2008, 12:07:20 AM
I'm new to the On30 world and would like to know if O scale structures really do look good with On30 equipment. Which manufactures (Plasticville, Atlas O, etc.) would I be the happiest with? And, any other tips would also be welcomed.

Thanks, GovB  ???
