HO / Installing a decoder
February 10, 2008, 06:38:27 PM
Hey everyone! I just got my first Bachmann train (I am a beginner), the Acela Express, for HO. I have been using DC for years, and want to start using DCC. I have the EZ Command, and all I need now is a decoder to put in the Acela. What decoders would you recommend for a guy on a budget? Do the decoders plug right in? The Acela says it is DCC ready, so I am assuming there is a hole where I plug in the decoder. Is this too simple?

HO / Bachmann Switch #5
February 04, 2008, 09:46:04 PM
What Bachmann curve would match the curve of the #5 switch to make the two tracks run parallel? I do not want to cut any track, and flex track is too expensive. Is there any Bachmann curve out there that matches the #5 switch that I can buy?

Hi Everyone! I know I can install DCC in the Acela express, but what decoders would you recommend? Is it possible to put sound in it? Thanks.

ok. Ill try to fit as many 30 inch radius curves as I can. I measured the room, and I think I might be able to fit them, at the cost of taking out some straight tracks. Where would you recommend buying these big curves? Oh and the Acela is DCC compatible right? Can you explain to me how this digital command thing works? Do I have to install anything? If I do, how? I really need some help here.

Thanks again for all your help!

Would that mean I shouldn't use 22" inch radius curves either? I dont have that much room for 30 inch radius turns.

Thanks for the advice. Im going to buy new turns just for this train. What curves would you recommend? Is it worth buying the train?

Thanks, but I have a layout that has like one or two 18 inch radius curves. I need to know if it fits too because if it doesn't, I probably won't have enough room for it.

I dont know. I think it only comes in Amtrak. Do you know if it is capable of going around 18 inch radius curves?

Hey The Bach Man! I got a question for you. Would the Acela Express fit around 18 inch radius curves? I see it comes with 22 inch radius ones, but I want to know if it is capable of going around 18 inch ones. PLEASE REPLY!!!!!
