My son had purchased a DCC Loco right after Christmas. It's a Norfolk Southern 4271 with sound. It ran no problem for 2 days. Now all other functions are good just won't move.
How old is your son?
Could be that all he's done is fiddle with the DCC settings. Yell him not to do that again. :)
Try resetting the decoder, set CV 8 to 08. Not 8 but 08.
The instructions will tell you how to reset the decoder.
Hey doesn't this belong in HO? :-\.. ??? Everything else gets chased to its "home" no matter how small or LARGE the problem. ;) Lets not be hypocritical now ::)

The first thing you should do with an issue is reset the decoder like was mentioned.
