Hi all I have a bachmann  Shay both 55 and 38ton and a heisler all have paint lifting from the metal I Frame. I have stripped and cleaned and tried to paint with Tamiya (Primer First) paint no luck.Paint just scratches easily have tried krylon still no luck and ideas on how to paint this metal?
Maybe metal blackener?

Well I have been going through by Connie after I got her new off eBay. Motor mount was loose as well as numerous screws. Also a cracked final gear and a cracked front pilot truck. Have spoken to the kind gentleman at Bachmann parts dept and have them on order.
That leave two problems left one how do you tighten up the counterweights on the driver (screw or Allen key) and the Tender base has a bow in it.
She really is a good looking loco.

well i finally got one.Found one in a shop for $199 NIB!!!!really happy now great engine.Gave up on waiting for a re-issue.So have all 3 types of  locos now.

Are the PC boards in the trucks need for the engine to run or can i take them out by splicing the red to red wire and black to black.They are just there for noise supression?I run on normal DC

Hi does anyone have the link to TOC Heisler gearbox mod to drill the hole for lubrication? I can’t find it any where.Also any one have problems with paint lifting from the heisler does not seem to happen on my 2,3 truck shay or climax.

Hi All

My Heisler had paint that started to lift off the counter weights. Took them off cleaned them up and resprayed with Tamiya Matt Black (can).It is a perfect colour match. Hope this helps.
