On30 / Running DCC engine on DC transformer?
January 23, 2017, 11:58:32 AM
I understand a DC/DCC dual decoder engine can also run on an DC transformer with no problems. Question: Is the Bachmann DCC On30 0-4-2 Porter able to run on DC? That is, does it have a dual DC/DCC decoder?

Any plans for Bachmann to produce On30 coal hopper ever again?

Does anyone know if or how the E-Z command unit, or any dcc control unit, can be used to implement either a point-to-point system, or a complete loop with station stops. (I do not mean reverse loops - which can be done with dcc.) I know how to do it with dc, but not dcc. Also, I know it can be done with a dcc engine powered by a dc box. Unlike the E-Z command control unit, a dc power box doesn't mind any control units between itself & the tracks. (Most dc point-to-point & station stop systems connect this way.)

On30 / adding addition auto reverse trolly track
November 22, 2014, 06:01:50 PM
For anyone wanting to add more track to an auto reverse i.e., point-to-point, trolly line (mine is the On30 Xmas set), I've found that it's not necessary to use Bachmann's special auto reverse EZ track: It can be done using regular EZ track. Actually, the only auto reverse track sections necessary are the two track sections with a gap in one of the rails: one that's in the trolly house, and the other which is usually used at the other end of the line, connecting to the bumper section (also not necessary). But what must be done is to connect with a wire at least one of the 2 wires running inside of the one auto reverse track section (in the trolly house) to the same wire inside the end auto reverse section. Just attach the wire to the metal clips on the two sections (of the same rail). All other sections can be regular EZ track.

Is it possible to connect several wires from separate track lines to one DCC EZ controller?

On30 / lubricating the On30 shay
December 05, 2011, 03:55:30 PM
Mr Bacmann,
The instructions that came with my On30 shay (25660) where generic, not directed to the shay. I've read elsewhere that the B-mann's G gauge shay required special lubricating, so, does the On30 also require the same? (I tried the On30 GUY site mentioned in another thread & it's not online anymore.)

On30 / help - On30 2-6-0 stalls when starting
December 16, 2010, 04:20:23 PM
When the driver wheels are always at 2 positions when stopped, the engine will stall, i.e., when I  turn the transformer on the engine seems not to be getting current - the engine light stays off, the motor makes no sound, & the it fails to move, unless given a bit of a push -it then runs normally (until stopped). The track is getting current since  the coaches' lights go on as soon as I give it juice from the transformer. Again, once the train is moving it runs ok. Also, if the wheels are not at the 2 certain positions when stopped, the engine starts normally. (Tracks & wheels have been cleaned.)

Any thoughts Mr Bach-mann? or anyone?

On30 / John Bull/Pagesus in On30
November 29, 2010, 08:07:03 PM
Anyone (or Mr Bach-man) know if there are Bachmann On30 John Bull/Pagesus type trains in the near future? Bachmann currently has these and several other early 19h century trains in HO. (Lionel has a Stroubridge Lion)

On30 / auto-reversing (point-to-point) Bachmann trolley
February 12, 2010, 02:30:21 PM
My Bachmann Xmas trolley set (On30 with auto reverse EZ track) only pauses about 2 seconds at each end. Does anyone know how to adjust the pause timing for it.

Does anyone know of an easy way to deaden sidings for parking analog & DCC tains? Are there simple switches for doing this? I understand that by parking an analog train it will idle and may burn out the motor. I'm using 2 Bachmann On30s, one analog (no DCC) the other DCC. I'll probably get an EZ Command Center.

On30 / opening a Bachmann coach & engine
March 25, 2009, 02:21:21 PM
Help! I'd like to know how to take the top (or bottom?) of an On30 coach off. The windows fell out & need to be put back in. Also, the set came with uninstalled windows for the engine (the 2-6-0). How can the coaches and engines be opened to do this?

On30 / Bachmann On30 scale & Kadee uncouplers
February 12, 2009, 12:38:33 PM
Does anyone know if Kadee between-rail magnetic uncouplers work ok with (Bachmann) On30 trains (code 100 track)? I've heard they may cause problems.

On30 / Bachmann On30 trolleys rail size & reversing
December 19, 2008, 10:16:58 AM
1-Will the On30 individually purchased trolleys (not the Xmas set) also work on the reversing track system which comes with the trolley set?
- I can now answer my own #1 question for anyone else interested - yes (see message from ole, Aug '07). Still don't know about #2 below.

2-Also, will these trolleys work ok on  a 15" curve track (i.e., if a non-Bachmann system is used)?
