General Discussion / Re: inner loop
April 27, 2013, 09:11:45 PM
As a side note . I have a 15" HO  radius inside an 18" radius loop ( 12 sections each )  Bachmann does not offer a 15" connector rerailer .  I used an Atlas 842 HO rail joiner .Don't even think of using long cars .On the 15" radius loop I only use a Bachmann trolley . Talk about small .The two loops I just described are on a 38" X 38" platform . Have fun !

General Discussion / Re: EZ Track Question

15" radius fits inside 18" radius . Go to my post in Geneal Discussion listed as 38"X38" small  HO layout . I only use the 15" radius for a trolley car .The 18'has 9" Harrimann style passenger cars .Don't even think of using long cars there will be too much overhang .Send me your email address and I will sent you a picture of a 15" inside 18" .Bachmann does not make a rerailer/connector track for 15" .I used an Atlas 842 HO terminal rail joiner. The two wires connect directly to each rail .
Enjoy !

Mike,
Don't have any clearance problems .I have 9" Harrimann passenger cars on loops 1& 2 . The two center loops have Bachmann street cars . Between loops 1 & 2 is the Bachmann reversing track . It is not a loop but runs about 3/4 of the way from right to left in a horse shoe shape .

I should add that the 15" radius circle is not for long cars .I only use it for Bachmann Highrailer bus , pick up and trolly car . The two largest loops have Harriman style 9" cars .I would not recommend using any of the long cars at all, they would be too long on curves . Art

Sorry Joe , I would not know how to do this .All I can say is the outer loop takes up the full 4'X6'. The reversing track is next to it and is a horse shoe shape covering about 3/4 of the outer circle from right to left .The next three loops fit inside each other .It leaves a space in the center plus plus some space on the left and right ends .Hope this makes some sense.Art

Thought I would share how I have four complete HO  loops plus one Bachmann Reversing Track all on a 4'X6' platform . Here goes :
   1- Outer Loop
       12-18" radius EZ Track
         8-9"  straight EZ Track( one left,one right ,3 front &3  rear )
         2 -1 1/2" straight EZ Track ( one front, one rear )
2- 3" straight EZ Track ( one front ,one rear )

2-Bachmann Reversing Track (  Makes a horse shoe bend between
                                                     first & Second loops )

          8- 18" radius reversing track
          3-   9" straight reversing track
2-   9 " straight reversing end tracks that come with set .
          2-   End bumpers
NOTE - This required the Bachmann Reversing set plus one
                            extra 9" straight and 12- 18" radius tracks .

    3-Second Loop
       12 -18" radius EZ track
2-  3" straight EZ Track ( one right side one left side )
         2  - 9" straight EZ  Track ( one front one rear )

    4- Third Loop
         12- 18" radius EZ Track

    5- Forth inside loop
         12- 15" radius EZ Track
NOTE- Since Bachmann does not make a 15" radius
rerailer I used an Atlas Terminal Rail Joiner.

Hope this information might help someone .
  Enjoy !

I would like to share how I got two loops of HO EZ track on a piece of plywood 38" square .
( 1 )  The original 12- 18" radius EZ  track that came with a Bachmann set  fit nicely on a 38" X 38 " piece of plywood.
( 2 ) 12- 15"  radius  EZ track will fit inside the the other loop .Since Bachmann does not make a rerailer connector track in 15" radius I used an Atlas 842 HO Terminal Rail Joiner .The two wires attach directly to the rails .
Hope this helps someone who needs a nice setup in a very small area .
NOTE - 15" radius is not for long cars .I use it with Bachmann Highrailer Bus, Pick up Truck and Trolley Car .
Enjoy !

Thanks Joe !  It would be nice if I could use a different controller .Not sure if this would even be possible though . Again, THANKS !

HO / dcc Peter Witt street car
March 07, 2013, 07:28:11 PM
I just purchased a new Spectrum DCC Peter Witt street car . I am using it on my DC system .This is my first ever DCC powered unit .When I first turn it on it only will move slow . After it warms up it runs faster but always takes more power than other Bachmann PCC street cars . Is this normal for                    operating DCC on DC ?  Thanks for your input . Art

HO / Bachmann Auto reversing controler speed
February 22, 2013, 02:08:27 PM
My Bachmann auto reversing track works great .However ,the slowest speed setting is rather fast . Is there a way to make the throttle control have a slower start up speed ? Another question is if the auto reversing track could be used with a more sensitive power pack ? Thanks for your comments .Art
