Title: The Coast Line Railroad - An On30 Railroad in 1930's Maine
Post by: pipefitter on October 08, 2010, 02:20:09 PM
I just found this wonderful On30 railroad on Facebook. Look at the photos, they are a real inspiration. The owner / craftsman says he doesn't spend time watching TV :D The layout is located in Näsum, Sweden. Enjoy!

From the album: "I thought I'd better introduce some of the rolling stuff on the Coast Line, starting with one of the Forneys, the mainstay of Maine narrow gauge (the management of the CLRR has a somwhat freer and wider choice of loco types than the rest of the Maine crowd though ;-)

No 2 is a standard Bachmann outside frame Forney, merely painted/weathered and handlettered in acrylics."

From the album: "The most excentric equipment running on the Coast Line tracks... my doubledecker sightseeing railbus. Scratchbuilt in styrene on the Bachmann railtruck chassis. LokSound decoder installed"

You can read about all of Troels Kirk's buildings here and how he made them from paper. http://modelersguild.com/ (http://modelersguild.com/)
He also has a three volume set on the RR Line forum. Vol. 1 Here http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=23577 (http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=23577);  Vol.2 http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=28072 (http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=28072)
and the current Volume 3 http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=30488 (http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=30488)

Troels' own blog also follows along on some of the details.
