Title: bachman's EZ track "normal" and "DCC" type
Post by: jmmrlm on January 05, 2015, 05:14:14 PM
could you please advise as to the difference between these two types of EZ tracks. I have the "normal" ones. When would one type be used over the other ?

You can opt to use DCC crossovers and turn outs if you have a DCC system and want the ability to throw the turnouts with your DCC controller.

If you are talking about the black vs. grey roadbed track, black is steel rail grey is nickel silver.
There is no such thing as DCC or DC track as the rails don't discriminate. Although you will find the ns track is easier to clean and will conduct better for DCC vs. steel.

Now if you are talking about turnout's and crossover's, DCC equipped ones will operate from your NMRA approved DCC controller. The standard one's come with their own controller which is separate from your DCC command station.
