Title: DCC 4-6-0 TENDER QUESTION??
Post by: fastfordray on April 15, 2012, 03:47:11 PM
HELLO EVERYONE,

I installed a TCS G8 decoder in my B&O locomotive.
Do I need to connect the 2-pin wires from the tender?
Do I still need the tender or can the locomotive run with just the decoder?
The problem I am having is when I try to program it with the Bachmann E-Z Command, it clicks a couple of times as if it's receiving the command, but then that's all it does.
I am a dummy when it comes to these decoders, so I hope there is someone out there that can point me in the right direction.

Thanks,
Ray

I think that wire is just the chuff cue--try the loco on DC with the wire plugged in to be sure.   needs a 9v battery for the sound.  if I remember mine it is electrically independen t of the loco.  gj

Ray if you only have two wires and the tender light does not work those wires are for the cam for chuff sound The wires are from engine only and the tenders do not have pick ups so you do not have to hook them up
