Hunt,
Thanks for the link.  This is just what I needed.  Have a good day.  Glenn, I'll watch for that problem as I start to make the changes.  Counterweights are on the way.  Should be hear by Thursday or so.

Bach Man,
Could you please re-post the link to the site that illustrates how to replace the counterweights on the K-27.  I can't seem to find it, and I'm ready to get started on the modification.  Thanks.

Warranties generally don't transfer via second hand purchases.  I suspect the purchases you made at a flea market do not carry a warranty.

Bach Man,
Thank you for your update.  I'm personally grateful that you are working on a viable solution.  This is too beautiful a locomotive to be relegated to a bookshelf, not to mention the investment cost.  I sincerely hope that future shipments of this fine locomotive have the problem resolved.
I'm looking forward to your next post that advises when/how we can obtain the shim sets to correct the problem.

I want to thank Bachmann for waiting to ship the locomotives with the DVD and instruction manual.  I have found the DVD very informative and useful.  It also appears that installing a sound system will be very easy.  Thank you.

I also appreciate the very careful packing.  Everything was perfect.  I can't wait to run, but still have over a foot of snow on my layout and will have to be patient for awhile.

Now that the AMS J&S cars are also shipping, I won't be able to buy coffee in the morning for the next six months!  What a great hobby.
