I don't have any specs on the DCC set - the photo looks like a #5 EZ coupler but I can't be sure.  You might want to call Bachmann Repairs in Philadelphia (use the 215 number - NOT the 800).  They may even have a part for you.  Good luck!
Is that this number--215-533-1600?

It's the one that comes in the Bachmann - Digital Commander Deluxe Set--if that helps.

Is it by any chance the item on page 274 of the 2008 Walther's HO catalog?  At the top of the middle column, item 380-452.  It looks similar, but not exactly the same.

Also who has the best prices on Kadee #5 couplers.  Are these everyone's basic favorite?

But it was OK.  I had to remove the shell and reattach the drive shaft and a couple of other parts had to be put back together.  The only part that broke is the right angle plastic part that goes from the metal body to the coupler.  What is that piece called?  Where can I get a new one?

Thank you for that link again.  I am looking more closely at some of the other layouts.  I am using DCC and my goal is to run two trains at the same time, but have some switching and a mining opertions going.

All I can say is you guys are great.  Maybe it's just model railroading in general that brings of such generous helpful people.

Well finally, thanks to Wounded Bear, I can post a link to my RTS file.  I tried to create a layout using Atlas pieces that match EZ Track, but as you can see I have a couple of gaps and mismatched ends.  Can I fudge these?  Or can you suggest other EZ parts or...?

You apparently have to save the file before you can open it.  Don't worry it's been check for viruses, but you might want to check again before opening.

Thanks
David

You're going to need your own webspace to host that. If you need, drop it to me in an email and I could post it on my site for a month or so. I'll email you back the URL and you can make your post.

The average RTS file isn't very large.......I should be able to hold it....just warning you  that eventually I will remove it, and the link here, won't be active any longer.

Sid
Wow, I will send it to you and when you send me the link I can post what I've really been wanting to post.

I sent it to your Hotmail account.

Thanks again.

As I suspected Photobucket will only upload video or image files.

I found this in a slightly older posting. I searched the forums using upload photo.
Posting photos is dead easy.

1) Go to www.photobucket.com and open an account.

2)  You now should have an "Album" page.

3)  Upload photos from your computer to photobucket.  It's dead simple, just use their "Browse" button and navigate your way to wherever you stored the photos you want to upload on your computer.

4)  Once the photos are in Photobucket, they upload automatically, it's dead easy, just right click under the photo on the "IMG Code"  under the photo (It automatically copies the URL etc., and then just right click and paste into your message here on the board.  It's dead easy.

I am a 67 year old geezer and I can do it.

Rich :)
The problem, old geezer, it's a file, not a photo.

What is an RTS file?

RTS is a train layout file using Atlas' freeware program.

I think this forum is set up so it does not accept file, picture posts.  You have to link to a picture on a different site, if that is what you want.
Charles
When you compose an email there is a link named "additional options" (it's below this box even as I type), when you click it it allows up to 4 attachments of no more than 128KB per post.  It doesn't say that there are only certain types of attachments you can send--but perhaps you're right.

I'm trying to upload a RTS file to a posting.  It is under the KB limit.  I keep getting a "Can't access location" message.  Any suggestions?

I emailed Thor's Trains and asked him about it. This was his response -

With an atlas snap saw and some rail joiners, you can cut track into 1 inch sections

The software allowed for 1" sections

Happy railroading

Thor

Is that saw the cheap $4 one?  Well it cut cleanly through the track, and the plastic ties (if in the way) and the plastic track bed?  Is there a better tool (not too expensive) that anyone recommends?  Can I simply use my regular miter box and back saw--or is this too thick a blade?
